Sixty years ago today…

Not unlike the #polarvortex we experienced this week, the Winter Dance Party tour went forth during treacherous, subzero #Wisconsin weather conditions that led to their bus breaking down. The touring musicians were not equipped with appropriate winter clothing so they layered their whole wardrobes and burned newspapers to generate heat. Holly’s drummer, Carl Bunch suffered frost bite injuries and was hospitalized in Ironwood, Michigan.
