Since the start of the social distancing orders in early March 2020, we have been inundated with inquiries and bookings for @heartofgreenbay guest house. Many of them from people who have no airbnb history, no host reviews, and have their home towns listed as Green Bay or Pulaski or Shawano. Many are asking to “see the apartment” ahead of booking, which is unprecedented by our five year airbnb experience. We have excellent photos on the site and the element of trust is improved for guests by our long list of positive guest reviews.
We will not allow entry to the unit between bookings to anyone except healthy cleaning personnel due to the pandemic.
We are practicing a week’s long spacing between guests with windows open. All furnishings, fixtures, linens and hard surfaces are being disinfected. There are many upholstered furnishings that cannot be washed or wiped down between guests. They are being sprayed with disinfectant, but supplies of spray disinfectants are in shortage.
We have also changed our minimum stay to one month, so as not to overwhelm the space with multiple guests in short stretches of time.
These measures are more than what is required by the health department, but that’s what we are comfortable with, especially in light of reports coming out about covid-19 lingering on surfaces for 19 days after guests have disembarked cruise ships.
